At our first Community Table of 2019, we were fortunate to share this round table discussion with CASA of the South Plains.
As of December 2018, there were 1879 children in the foster system in Region 1 (41 counties in the Texas Panhandle). CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate, and there are few roles as influential as a CASA volunteers are to these children. As a foster parent myself, I can tell you we need more than just foster families. We need to cultivate a VILLAGE that surrounds these kids and their families.
There is so much great content in this group interview! For those looking for specific info, topics and timestamps are below. Enjoy!
In short, we encourage you to join with CASA. You will be an agent of healing for neglected and abused children in the Lubbock area. As Gabe shared, for more information on becoming a CASA and upcoming CASA 101 dates, go to casaofthesouthplains.org.
